A primary function of the West Alabama Regional Commission (WARC) is to assist the region’s counties and municipalities to obtain funds from a variety of sources and programs to complete projects that stimulate community and economic development.
Our staff is responsive and readily available to consult with member governments to develop projects, identify funding sources, and prepare grant applications. Once funding has been secured we offer a full-range of administrative services to ensure projects follow all applicable local, state and federal regulations and are completed successfully.
WARC has decades of expertise providing grant assistance. Our team of grant writers has a deep knowledge and understanding of the many public and private funding sources available and how best to use them. This is matched by vast levels of experience with project activities in many areas such as community facilities, education, healthcare, public infrastructure, recreation, transportation, workforce and much more.
Each year WARC staff participates in numerous workshops, training sessions, webinars and other activities to stay abreast of new initiatives and funding announcements. Our established relationships and regular contact with these key agency partners allows us to stay up-to-date on new grant opportunities and advocate for projects that are needed in the region.
